Q. Why are Vinyl Stickers better than other types of stickers?
A: Simply put, vinyl is the most premium and highest-quality material avalible for stickers. Vinyl is waterproof and lasts for years outdoors. Many sticker companies use BOPP (Polypropelene), a much lower quality material typically only suited for indoor use. It will generally degrade after a couple of months. Some companies even use paper for their stickers which typically last days.
Q: What are die-cut stickers?
A: Die-cut stickers are cut to the exact shape of your design; this makes your design pop. They have a great appearance even before you've stuck them somewhere. These stickers are perfect for handing out at events, promoting your brand or business, or sharing your designs. We can cut all types of custom shapes.
Q: What are kiss-cut stickers?
A: Kiss-cut stickers are not cut through the backing paper. They are typically printed onto sheets so you can have multiple designs on one page. We offer Sticker Sheets, in addition to die-cut stickers. Our sticker sheets also use premium white vinyl.
Q: Do you offer different types of sticker vinyl?
A: Yes, we do! In addition to our standard white vinyl material, we make holographic and transparent stickers.
Q: What is so great about your stickers?
A: We use state-of-the-art technology to make our stickers. We have the widest color gamut and most accurate printing in the industry. We also have technology that allows us to cut detailed designs with extreme accuracy. Our stickers are laminated and durable for five+ years outdoors. We stand behind the quality of all of our products. Check out a blog post we wrote about the quality of our stickers here.
Q: What type of file do I need to submit for my sticker design?
A: Our design team can work with virtually any file type. For best results, we recommend a high-resolution image such as a PNG or JPG or a Vector file such as an SVG, AI, and EPS. If you need help enhancing the resolution of your file, our team can help.
Q: Can I order just one vinyl sticker?
A: Yes, we have no minimum order quantities! You can order anywhere from a single custom sticker to thousands.
Q: I need a specific sticker size that isn't listed. Is this possible?
A: Yes, of course! You can purchase the closest size and leave a note at checkout. Or contact us and we can give you a quote.
Q: Are vinyl stickers removable or permanent?
A: Our stickers have a permanent adhesive. They will stay strong for years on most surfaces without issue. However, you can easily remove them without leaving a sticky residue.
Q: Can I use a photo as my artwork for my vinyl stickers?
A: Yes! Many customers make awesome stickers of their family, friends, pets, and more. If you need your image cropped, please leave a note at checkout so our design team understands how you want it to be done.
Our team will do all the work to set up your file. However, suppose you are an advanced user and already have Adobe Illustrator. In that case, you are welcome to create the cutlines you want us to use.
To do this:
1. Create a layer with your design called "Artwork."
2. Create a second layer and call it "Cut Line." You can then use paths to create the cutline exactly how you would like it. If you want it to follow your design, you can vectorize and then offset the design and convert that path to a stroke.
For designs with a border, you should maintain a margin of at least 0.05" between the cutline and the design.
We can also print and cut your stickers with a full bleed; this means the design will go to the edge of the stickers. To accomplish this, we bring the cut line inside your art by approximately 0.03."
If setting up your design with full bleed, please bring the cut line in by at least 0.03".
For die-cut stickers, we can go as small as 0.75x0.75". If you need something smaller, don't hesitate to get in touch with us. For kiss-cut stickers, we can do 0.5x0.5".
The finest detail we recommend is 0.5pt line-weight.
Artwork can be supplied in CMYK or RGB; however, we typically recommend RGB because it has a broader color gamut. Our printers use ten ink colors so that we can hit over 98% of Pantone colors, but RGB gives a more accurate print for our setup.
We recommend that you submit your images in 300ppi at full size. If your image is low resolution, our team will automatically enhance it. However, very low-resolution images may still come out grainy even after improving. We will contact you if we think there could be an issue.
File Format
You can submit any file format you like. If you set up your own file, you can save it and upload it as a PDF.
By default, we leave white areas of your design transparent. In other words, we do not lay down ink in those areas. Instead, the vinyl material of your choice will show through there.
Our printers are capable of printing white ink. If you need white ink printed on your stickers, please reach out for a custom quote.
We typically add a layer of white ink under the colored inks for clear stickers to enhance the opacity, making the colors brighter.
Note that transparent stickers aren't as bright as white vinyl stickers, even with a layer of white ink, due to the translucent nature of the ink. As a result, transparent stickers may look lighter than on your screen.
