Custom Artwork Stickers | Turn Your Art Into Stickers
At Custom Stickers, we are the preferred sticker printer for artists everywhere. Many of our customers are artists who use stickers as a way to promote their art, share at shows and conventions, or sell.
- Full-Color Digital Print onto White Vinyl
- Laminate Coating for 5 Year Outdoor Life
- Any Shape or Design
By default, we add a small border around your art. However, leave a note at checkout if you want full-bleed. Also, note that the size selection references the longest side of the sticker.
The vinyl used for our custom stickers is made in the United States. Our inks are eco-solvent & friendly to the environment!
We take great pride in the high-quality materials we use. Are you looking for something else? Put your artwork or design onto bumper stickers here. Or get our clear stickers here.
Q: WHY ARE VINYL STICKERS BETTER THAN OTHER TYPES OF STICKERS?
A: Simply put, vinyl is the most premium and highest quality material that can be used for stickers. Vinyl is waterproof and lasts for years outdoors. Many sticker companies use BOPP (Polypropelene), a much lower quality material typically only suited for indoor use. It will generally degrade after a couple of months. Some companies even use paper for their stickers which usually only last days.
Q: DO YOU OFFER DIFFERENT TYPES OF STICKER VINYL?
A: Yes, we do! In addition to our standard white vinyl material, we make holographic and transparent stickers.
Q: WHAT IS SO GREAT ABOUT YOUR STICKERS?
A: We use state-of-the-art technology to make our stickers. We have the widest color gamut and most accurate printing in the industry. We also have technology that allows us to cut detailed designs with extreme accuracy. Our stickers are laminated and durable for five+ years outdoors. We stand behind the quality of all of our products. Check out a blog post we wrote about the quality of our stickers here.
Q: WHAT TYPE OF FILE DO I NEED TO SUBMIT FOR MY ART STICKER DESIGN?
A: Our design team can work with virtually any file type. We recommend a high-resolution image such as a PNG or JPG or a Vector file such as an SVG, AI, or EPS for best results. If you need help enhancing the resolution of your file, our team can help.
Q: CAN I ORDER JUST ONE ART STICKER?
A: Yes, we have no minimum order quantities! We can do it whether you need a single custom sticker or thousands.
Q: I NEED A SPECIFIC STICKER SIZE THAT ISN'T LISTED. IS THIS POSSIBLE?
A: Yes, of course! You can purchase the closest size and leave a note at checkout, or contact us, and we can give you a quote.
Q: ARE YOUR STICKERS REMOVABLE OR PERMANENT?
A: Our stickers have a permanent adhesive. They will stay strong for years on most surfaces without issue. However, they can be removed without leaving a sticky residue.
Q: CAN I USE A PHOTO AS MY ARTWORK FOR MY VINYL STICKERS?
A: Yes! Many customers make awesome stickers of their family, friends, pets, and more. If you need your image cropped, please leave a note at checkout, so our design team understands what you want to be done.
FILE SETUP
Our team will do all the work to set up your file. However, suppose you are an advanced user and already have Adobe Illustrator. In that case, you are welcome to create your own cutlines that we will use.
To do this:
1. Create a layer with your design called "Artwork."
2. Create a second layer and call it "Cut Line." You can then use paths to create the cutline exactly how you would like it. If you want it to follow your design, you can vectorize and then offset the design and convert that path to a stroke.
SAFETY MARGIN
For designs with a border, you should maintain a margin of at least 0.05" between the cutline and the design.
We can also print and cut your stickers with a full bleed. This means the design will go to the edge of the stickers. To accomplish this, we bring the cut line inside your art by approximately 0.03."
If you are setting up your own design with full bleed, please bring the cut line in by at least 0.03".
MINIMUM CUT SIZE
For die cut stickers, we can go as small as 0.75x0.75". If you need something smaller, don't hesitate to get in touch with us. For kiss cut stickers, we can do 0.5x0.5".
FINE DETAIL
The finest detail we recommend is 0.5pt line-weight.
COLOR
Artwork can be supplied in CMYK or RGB; however, we typically recommend RGB. It has a broader color gamut. Our printers use ten ink colors so that we can hit over 98% of Pantone colors. RGB gives a more accurate print for our setup.
IMAGE RESOLUTION
We recommend that you submit your images in 300ppi at full size. If your image is low resolution, our team will automatically enhance it. However, very low-resolution images may still come out grainy even after improving. We will contact you if we think there could be an issue.
File Format
You can submit any file format you like. If you set the file up yourself, you can save it and upload it as a PDF.
WHITE PRINT
By default, we leave white areas of your design transparent. In other words, we do not lay down ink in those areas. Instead, the vinyl material of your choice will show through there.
Our printers are capable of printing white ink. If you need white ink printed on your stickers, please reach out for a custom quote.
TRANSPARENT STICKER
We typically add a layer of white ink under the colored inks for clear stickers. This enhances the opacity, making the colors brighter.
Note that transparent stickers aren't as bright as white vinyl stickers, even with a layer of white ink. This is due to the translucent nature of the ink. As a result, transparent stickers may look lighter than on your screen.

Why Turn Your Art into Custom Stickers
Many artists want to turn their art into custom stickers because it’s a simple way to share creativity with the world. Whether you have watercolor paintings, digital illustrations, or pen-and-ink drawings, stickers help transform that art into something people can hold, stick on a water bottle, or even place on a laptop or window. Some artists use a sticker business to sell their designs and earn extra income, while others simply want to give out stickers to friends or customers. If you’re an artist who wants to expand your reach, then choosing to create stickers from your artwork can be a practical next step. It’s a good idea to focus on both vinyl stickers and paper stickers so you can offer multiple designs that match different needs and budgets. And if you’re not sure which printing material is right for you, our team can give you a quick review of the pros and cons of each option.
Our Straightforward Process
We’re proud to say our process is simple from start to finish. You upload your image or artwork to our site, and we handle the rest. The production process begins when we take your file and prepare it for print. We’ll format everything for the best resolution, then add a cut line if needed. From there, our team checks for any issues with the background or border to ensure your stickers come out looking great. You’ll receive a proof to confirm the shape, size, and edge style before anything gets printed. After you approve the proof, we print stickers using high-quality material and adhesive designed to be durable and long-lasting. But if you need cheap stickers in bulk, we can also accommodate that by adjusting the type of paper or vinyl used. Our site lets you select your finish preference—matte or glossy—and we’ll note all your requests. Once printing is done, we carefully cut your designs (including die cut stickers if you choose that style) and send them off to you.
Choosing the Right Material
When you create custom stickers, you want to pick the right printing material for your designs. Vinyl stickers are usually more durable, making them suitable for outdoor use or for sticking on items like a water bottle that gets handled daily. Paper stickers might be better for more budget-friendly projects or short-term applications, such as handing out freebies at an event or labeling products for a quick promotion. If you’re printing detailed designs or illustrations, vinyl might give you sharper lines and a higher-quality finish. But don’t discount paper, especially if you’re working with a simpler art style or want to keep costs low. The sense you get from the final product can change depending on the material, so it’s wise to consider how and where your stickers will be used.
Die Cut vs. Other Shapes
We often get asked about die cut stickers. A die cut refers to a specific shape that follows the outline of your artwork instead of a standard circle or square. It’s ideal if you have multiple designs with unique silhouettes or if you want to create a sticker that really stands out. When we die cut your sticker, we pay attention to the cut line around your art to ensure everything looks intentional. This can work for artwork that has a natural border or even a painting with a distinctive form. If you prefer something more straightforward, choose a standard shape that’s easy to peel and apply. Either way, you’ll still get a high-quality final product.
Tips for Working with Different Art Styles
If you have watercolor paintings, consider scanning them at a high resolution so the subtle gradients stay clear in the final print. For detailed designs, double-check that your line work remains crisp when scaled down. If you have a painting or drawing that’s filled with lots of intricate elements, you might want to create a little border around the edges, so nothing gets cut off in the printing or trimming stage. Also, keep color contrasts in mind—sometimes printing on paper can change the brightness of your art, so you might save a version of your file with slightly boosted contrast. If you’re not sure, you can always request a small proof from our team before committing to a larger run. And if you enjoy writing a blog post about your artwork, adding a link to your sticker page on your website can drive more traffic from your readers who might want to buy or share your sticker creations.
How to Sell Your Stickers
Some artists choose to create stickers to sell online or in person. If that’s your plan, you can set up a small business site to showcase your designs. Or you might open a store on an online marketplace. There’s also the option of selling at fairs, conventions, or community events. People often buy stickers to decorate phones, journals, laptops, or even kids’ craft projects. The sense of personalization is what makes stickers so appealing. If you’re worried about cost, you can order in bulk to get a lower price per piece, which might make it easier to set up a profitable sticker business. Then you can review how well each design sells and decide which ones to reorder. In my opinion, it’s always good to experiment with multiple designs to see what resonates with customers.

And if you have kids who love to draw, you can even turn their doodles into stickers they’ll be proud of. It brings a smile to see how excited people get when they hold something that once was just a drawing on paper.
