Custom UV DTF transfers make it easy to add detailed, full-color artwork to smooth, hard surfaces without a heat press. Upload your design and we will print it in vibrant color with an opaque white ink layer, then prepare it on transfer film so it arrives ready to apply.

Unlike traditional cut-vinyl transfer decals, UV DTF transfers can reproduce full-color logos, gradients, illustrations, small text, and detailed artwork in a single transfer. There is no weeding and no heat required. Once applied, only the printed design remains on the surface, creating a clean, professional appearance that looks almost directly printed onto the product.

UV DTF stickers are ideal for glass, acrylic, rigid plastic, glazed ceramic, sealed wood, compatible coated metal, tumblers, cups, product packaging, promotional products, and many other smooth hard surfaces.

Every UV DTF order includes a 4-inch felt squeegee for applying your transfers. The felt edge helps you apply firm, even pressure across the design while protecting the transfer film during application.

For the longest-lasting results, we recommend hand washing decorated drinkware and other washable items.

Avoid aggressive scrubbing directly over the transfer, prolonged soaking, or exposing the design to unnecessary abrasion. Allow the adhesive to establish a strong bond before washing or heavily handling the decorated item.

Actual durability can vary depending on the surface material, coating, application quality, washing method, and environmental exposure.

Careful surface preparation and thorough burnishing are especially important for transfers containing small text, thin lines, or detailed artwork.

1. Clean and Prepare the Surface

Make sure the application area is smooth, clean, and completely dry.

Remove dust, grease, oils, and other residue using soap and water or an appropriate surface cleaner. For many compatible surfaces, a 50/50 mixture of rubbing alcohol and water can also be used.

Allow the surface to dry completely before applying the transfer.

2. Pre-Burnish the Transfer

Before separating the transfer films, place the design face down with the backing facing upward.

Using the included squeegee, press firmly across the entire back of the design several times.

Pay extra attention to:

• Small text

• Thin lines

• Fine details

• Separate or isolated design elements

Firm, even pressure helps ensure the complete design is properly seated on the carrier before application.

3. Remove the Backing

Slowly separate the backing from the transfer while watching the artwork carefully.

Make sure every part of the printed design remains attached to the clear carrier film.

For designs with fine lines or small individual elements, peel more slowly and carefully.

If part of the artwork does not transfer to the carrier, stop. Lay the backing back into position, use the included squeegee to burnish the affected area again, and resume peeling from a different direction or angle.

4. Position the Transfer

Determine exactly where you want the design before allowing the adhesive to contact the surface.

For smaller transfers, carefully hold the design with both hands and lower it into position.

For larger transfers, applying gradually from one side toward the other can make placement easier and help reduce trapped air, wrinkles, or accidental overlapping.

Once the adhesive contacts the surface, repositioning may be difficult, so take your time during placement.

5. Burnish Firmly

Once positioned, use the included felt squeegee to press firmly across the entire transfer.

Work across every portion of the artwork several times, applying additional pressure over small text and fine details.

The goal is to establish complete contact between the adhesive and the application surface.

6. Remove the Carrier Film

Slowly peel the clear carrier film away at a low angle while watching the design.

If any portion of the artwork begins lifting with the carrier, stop peeling. Lay the carrier back down, burnish that section again with the included squeegee, and continue from a different direction if necessary.

Once the carrier is completely removed, the printed artwork should remain directly on the surface.

We accept most common artwork file types.

For the best print quality, we recommend:

• Vector artwork: AI, SVG, EPS, or PDF

• Raster artwork: Transparent PNG or other high-quality image at 300 DPI or higher

• Transparent backgrounds whenever the design should not include a printed background

• Artwork created at or near the intended print size whenever possible

Vector files are preferred for logos, text, and artwork with very fine details because they can be scaled without losing sharpness.

Minimum Detail Size

UV DTF printing handles fine detail extremely well, but extremely small elements can become difficult to transfer reliably.

As a general guideline, avoid lines, gaps, or isolated design elements smaller than approximately 0.02 inches (0.5 mm) whenever possible.

Small text and very fine separated details may also require additional care during application.

Canva and Procreate Files

If you are designing in Canva, Procreate, or similar programs, exporting a high-quality PDF is often a good choice for preserving artwork quality.

High-resolution transparent PNG files are also acceptable when exported at the proper dimensions and resolution.

The smoother and cleaner the application surface, the more consistently the adhesive can make complete contact.
