Design Setup and File Guidelines
At Custom Stickers, we strive to make the design setup process as simple as possible. By default, we add a small border around your artwork, but if you prefer a full-bleed design, simply leave a note at checkout. It's important to note that our size selection refers to the longest side of the sticker.
Our team will set up your file for you, but if you're an advanced user with Adobe Illustrator, you're welcome to create your own cutlines. To do this, create a layer called "Artwork" with your design, and a second layer called "Cut Line." Use paths to create your cutline exactly how you want it, and be sure to maintain a margin of at least 0.05" between the cutline and the design.
For designs with a border, we recommend maintaining a margin of at least 0.05" between the cutline and the design. However, if you prefer full-bleed stickers, we can print and cut them to the edge of the sticker by bringing the cut line inside your art by approximately 0.03". If you choose to set up your design with full bleed, be sure to bring the cut line in by at least 0.03".
We can create die-cut stickers as small as 0.75x0.75" and kiss-cut stickers as small as 0.5x0.5". If you need something even smaller, don't hesitate to contact us.
For the finest detail, we recommend a line-weight of at least 0.5pt. Artwork can be supplied in either CMYK or RGB, but we typically recommend RGB for a broader color gamut. Our printers use ten ink colors, so we can hit over 98% of Pantone colors.
We print stickers in high resolution, so we recommend submitting images at 300ppi at full size. If your image is low resolution, our team will enhance it, but very low-resolution images may still appear grainy even after improvement. If we think there could be an issue, we'll contact you.
You can submit your design in any file format you like, and if you've set up the file yourself, you can save it and upload it as a PDF. By default, we leave white areas of your design transparent, but if you need white ink printed on your stickers, please reach out to us for a custom quote.
